Olea Europaea Oil Unsaponifiables
Olive oil unsaponifiables, sometimes known as Planell Oil are a portion of the oil derived from the whole, ripe fruit of the olive (olea europaea) tree. These evergreen trees grow up to 15 meters tall and are widely cultivated in the Mediterranean Basin.
Harvested olives are ground and then cold pressed to extract the oil.
Why I love Olive Oil in our Hair Oil:
Olive oil unsaponifiables are typically rich in squalane, a compound in the skin that requires replenishment. They are useful as a moisturiser for your hair because it is easily absorbed while helping moisturise and soften your scalp and hair.
Planell Oil is a naturally derived plant oil containing high levels of squalane and squalene. It is an ideal replacement for animal squalane for the replenishment of lipids lost from the skin.
