How to get Voluminous Curls, The CurlyEllie Way

Waves, curls and coils are beautiful and unique in every way, part of the journey of having curls is finding the right products for our hair, and using those products in the right way to give us the results we so desire!

The first step in this is always going to be finding a good way to cleanse your hair. It’s a staple to any curly or coily routine. Chances are that your chosen line of products consist of conditioning agents and gel deposits.

A word of caution though, allowing these products to sit too long on the hair and scalp will eventually cause build up, which can lead to some pretty annoying scalp and hair issues. No one wants that, so we have a solution!

CurlyEllie Gentle Shampoo is sulfate free, ridding your hair of impurities without stripping your hair and scalp of its natural oils. The Cocamidopropyl Betaine (derived from coconut oil) and Sulfoacetate’s combine to gently cleanse but without irritation or causing any dryness to your scalp. Aloe Vera Juice, Quinoa Protein and Pro-Vitamin B5, a trio of dream, leave your hair smooth and conditioned! Plus, the Aloe Vera Juice leaves your scalp nice and soothed.

So, what should I be doing?! I hear you ask. So let me introduce to you…

The CurlyEllie Art of Shampooing!

We developed this technique for those dealing with an oily scalp or just those who might have pushed their wash day back a little too long!

The aim? Bring back volume and bounce to your roots!

Watch it here or continue reading to try it at home.

Step 1 - Remove the excess sebum

Apply CurlyEllie Gentle Shampoo directly onto a dry scalp and massage in to gently remove excess sebum and product build up.

Step 2 - Cleanse the scalp

Completely wet your hair with water, lather and distribute the shampoo evenly through the hair.

Step 3 - Wash your hair

We’ve focused a lot on the scalp in this process, but don’t forget the hair so it can properly absorb all the moisture and nutrients from the CurlyEllie Nourishing Conditioner and CurlyEllie Curl Defining Leave-in Conditioner.

Step 4 - Enjoy your fabulous curls!

Now you're completely ready to go out there and enjoy the last of spring with volume all the way from your roots to the ends of your locks!
